LAURA DE CORDON, DVM
MEDICAL DIRECTOR

Dr. de Cordon is a dedicated veterinarian with a rich background in companion animal medicine, emergency, and preventive care. She graduated with a veterinary degree in 2013 and has been driven by a passion for animal health and a commitment to providing first-rate care since.
In 2019, Dr. de Cordon successfully completed the rigorous requirements of the Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates (ECFVG), affirming her qualifications and dedication to practicing veterinary medicine at the highest standards in the U.S.
Over the past five years, Dr. de Cordon has served in a high-pressure environment, working at a leading emergency veterinary facility. This experience has solidified her expertise in critical care, where she managed a wide array of urgent and complex cases with a calm and composed demeanor. Her proficiency in ultrasound imaging allows her to reach effective diagnoses and treatments, ensuring the best possible outcomes for her patients.
In her free time, Dr. de Cordon enjoys traveling and exploring new cultures with her husband and son. As well as enriching her personal life, these adventures provide Dr. de Cordon with fresh perspectives that she brings back to her practice, enhancing her ability to connect with clients from diverse backgrounds. At home, she is kept delightfully busy by her own pack of three dogs and three cats. These beloved pets provide constant joy and insight into the daily lives of her patients, deepening her empathy as a veterinarian
Dr. de Cordon is excited to embark on a new chapter by opening Lakeview Animal Hospital. This venture reflects her commitment to high-quality medicine, compassionate care, and exceptional veterinary services. Dr. de Cordon and everyone at Lakeview Animal Hospital are dedicated to the people of their community in caring for their companion animals.

KATHERINE HATZIGIANNAKIS, DVM

Dr. Hatzigiannakis (or Dr. H) has loved and appreciated animals her entire life—from the tallest to the smallest. While she cares for pets of all shapes and sizes, she admits to having a special soft spot for little dogs, especially Chihuahuas. Dr. H's veterinary journey began in 2001 as a veterinary assistant. After working as a registered veterinary technician, she pursued her dream of becoming a veterinarian and earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia. She also completed her undergraduate studies at Towson University.
Dr. H loves all aspects of general practice and especially values the lasting relationships she builds with her clients and patients. Her professional interests include cytology, non-invasive imaging such as ultrasound, and soft tissue surgery. She is passionate about helping pet owners make informed decisions and providing personalized care for every patient.
When she's not at the hospital, Dr. H enjoys spending time with her husband, two dogs, and two snakes. Her hobbies include gaming, crafting, traveling, reading, and attending the annual Renaissance Faire.
ELIZABETH ARTHUR, DVM DACVS-SA

Dr. Elizabeth Arthur graduated from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003 and pursued extensive surgical training during the subsequent five years. She accomplished one-year internships in both general medicine & surgery and small animal surgery at two distinguished hospitals, The Animal Medical Center and Gulf Coast Veterinary Surgery, before moving to Maryland in 2005.
Following completion of her three year residency in small animal surgery with Chesapeake Veterinary Surgical Specialists, Dr. Arthur spent two years in Gaithersburg as a member of the surgical team at Veterinary Referral Associates.
Dr. Arthur is an active member of the Maryland veterinary community, speaking regularly at conferences and CE events. Her areas of interest include general orthopedics and soft tissue surgery, with specific focus on oncologic surgery as well as treatment of cruciate ligament injuries and other disorders of the knee.Dr. Arthur’s meticulous surgical skill is complemented by a longstanding emphasis on pain management, and she has been a member of the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management since 2005. Ensuring patient comfort is inherent in Dr. Arthur’s practice and is vital to our ability to provide referral quality surgical care.
Dr. Arthur’s warmth and compassion reflect her lifelong goal to be a veterinarian. She is originally from Missouri and attended the University of Missouri as an undergraduate, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Biology magna cum laude with honors, prior to veterinary school. Go Mizzou!
Dr. Arthur is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (Small Animal Surgery).
ADRIENNE BARRETT, DVM
ASSOCIATE VETERINARIAN

Dr. Adrienne Barrett brings a unique combination of clinical experience, advanced veterinary training, and a genuine passion for animal health. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Iowa State University and has spent her career caring for animals in a variety of settings, including companion animal medicine, public health, and military veterinary service.
As a U.S. Army Veterinarian, Dr. Barrett has served in the United States, Japan, and Egypt, supporting both animal and community health. She is board-certified in veterinary pathology and preventive medicine and is committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care for every patient she sees.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Dr. Barrett is passionate about client education and building strong relationships with pet owners. She understands that pets are family and believes that great veterinary care starts with trust, communication, and partnership.
KATHERINE MULLIN
VETERINARY TEAM LEAD

Katherine is a veterinary technician with a B.S. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, and Bioinformatics from Towson University. She has several years of experience in emergency veterinary medicine and now works in general practice. She’s also taught science and technology, including 3D printing and robotics, and plans to pursue a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) to continue providing exceptional care to pets and their families.
In her free time, Katherine enjoys riding her Thoroughbred, caring for her goats, and hiking with her adventurous cat, Sebastian.
WILMA BERRIOS

Wilma is a licensed veterinary technician with over six years of experience in the field. She began her career as a kennel technician, later advancing to a veterinary assistant before earning her A.S. in Veterinary Technology from Northern Virginia Community College in 2024.
Wilma is passionate about patient comfort, client education, and continuing to grow her skills in both preventive and emergency care. Outside of work, she enjoys the outdoors, exploring new cuisines, and celebrating her heritage through Bolivian folkloric dance.

A'Lyssa is a veterinary assistant and receptionist with a B.S. in Biology and a B.A. in Linguistics (Spanish focus) from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). She has a strong passion for animals, having volunteered for a year in the surgery department at BARCS, assisting with various medical cases. A'Lyssa aims to pursue a DVM/Ph.D. to bridge clinical practice and scientific research in veterinary medicine.
Outside the clinic, she enjoys experimenting with new recipes, crocheting, and reading classic literature.

Jess is a veterinary assistant currently in school to become a registered veterinary technician. She has a B.A. in Biologic Foundations of Behavior: Animal Behavior, with a minor in Hebrew Language and Literature from Franklin & Marshall College. While in college, Jess studied abroad in Tanzania, taking classes and participating in an ongoing elephant research project. She has always been an animal lover and enjoys spending her free time caring for her pets.
In addition to her veterinary work, Jess is a nationally registered EMT. She is passionate about caring for all animals and giving them the best care possible. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her boyfriend and their two dogs.

Marie is a certified translator, former public-school teacher and Operations Manager at Lakeview Animal Hospital. After completing her master’s degree in Latin American Literature from American University, she worked primarily in education—leading study abroad trips, supporting families through Early Head Start, and teaching middle school Spanish—while teaching yoga on the side. She lives with her family and puppy in Baltimore City.
In her free time, Marie loves to go to parks and playgrounds with her family, reading, and traveling. She is excited to meet you and your furry family members!

Amie has over two and a half years of experience as a Customer Service Representative, specializing in emergency, specialty, and general practice. A lifelong animal lover, particularly of horses, she enjoys spending her free time with family, horseback riding, and caring for her pets, including two Dalmatians, two German Shepherds, four cats, and her granddog, Darla.
In addition to her veterinary work, Amie is a firefighter, having served at the same firehouse where her grandfather was Fire Chief. She is passionate about veterinary medicine and values the diverse cases and clients she encounters.

Dominique brings a strong background in customer service and a passion for building meaningful connections with both clients and their pets. She is dedicated to creating a warm, supportive experience while continuing to grow her knowledge and skills in the veterinary field.
As a proud cat mom to two beloved kitties, Dominique’s love for animals inspires her every day. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, discovering new music, trying new recipes, and relaxing at home with her cats.

Melany (Mel) is currently pursuing a degree in Radiation Therapy and is passionate about building a career focused on compassionate, patient-centered care. With six years of experience in the animal and veterinary field, she has developed strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a deep commitment to providing exceptional care.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, she is dedicated to fostering a welcoming environment and communicating effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Outside of her academic and professional pursuits, she enjoys spending time with her fiancé, playing video games, taking walks, and caring for her newly adopted pet, Stella.
